Executive Officers

DMCIS executive officers provide expertise in disaster health services. DMCIS believes that state-of-the-art in the disaster health sector emerges from inter-disciplinary, inter-agency, and international best practices. To that end, DMCIS assesses disaster health expertise by criterion-referenced qualifications in clinical medicine and public health, invitational continuing professional development, organizational experience, field experience, national medical licensures, language fluency, and peer awards.

Each Executive Officer possesses all of the following threshold qualifications:
  • current specialty board certifications or specialty college fellowships in clinical medicine and public health
  • continuing professional development through invitational technical training by governmental, non-governmental, United Nations, and Red Cross organizations
  • organizational experience as disaster medical coordinator or team leader for governmental, non-governmental, United Nations, and Red Cross organizations
  • field experience as disaster medical coordinator or health advisor in over twenty countries on five continents
  • medical licensure in two or more countries
  • language fluency in two or more official UN languages
  • national or international awards for field excellence from governmental, non-governmental, and Red Cross organizations
